Always an avid reader with a vivid imagination, Carol grew up in Smalltown, Wisconsin with church ice cream socials, Fourth of July parades, summer carnivals and people knowing and caring about everybody else. What better backdrop for heroes and heroines to fall in love?
In the years between Business College and a U.W. Liberal Arts Degree, Carol worked in a variety of businesses, married, raised two sons and a daughter and did volunteer work for church, school, Scouts, 4-H and hospice. And she collected a few rejection letters from magazines when the voices in her head insisted on being heard. Finding Romance Writers of America gave her courage to try writing romance, and the voices began to sing.
Carol’s writing has received many awards, including two Golden Heart nominations and two Maggie Award nominations. She has won the Heart of the Rockies contest, the Four Seasons Award, the Golden Pen and the Silver Quill. Her debut novel, The Way to a Woman's Heart, was published by Silhouette Special Edition. The book won the long contemporary category in the Beacon and garnered third place for best first book in the More Than Magic contest. Carol couldn’t be happier that Instant Daddy, Love of a Lifetime, and Daddy Next Door found a home with Love Inspired. Carol's currently enjoying an exciting venture into indie publishing with A Baby for Sarah, After the Wedding, and Leah's Hope.
Carol lives near Madison, Wisconsin with her creative husband, her sweet, vibrating Border collie and her dapper tuxedo rescue kitty. Besides writing, she loves reading, walking with her dog, biking, flower gardening, traveling and most of all, God, home and family. She loves to hear from readers at [email protected]
FUN FACT: Writing romance runs in the family. Carol’s daughter, Ann Voss Peterson has written twenty-five romantic suspense novels for Harlequin Intrigue and now publishes thrillers and romantic suspense independently and for Thomas & Mercer!
